Ups and Downs

    2006/04/08 - 4:02 p.m.

So I've been really, really busy lately. Anyway, we're into the semifinals for the Nationals! Woohoo! Can you believe that the top 4 teams in West Zone are the top 4 teams in Nationals? Way cool. XD This proves it. West Zone trumps all. Haha. We've only suffered one defeat in the Nationals to Manjusri when we played really badly. We beat Cedar(by 7 points) and Naval Base(60-31) to reach the top 8. Then, we defeated Raffles, Assumption English and Anderson to reach the top 4. All those 3 teams were the champions in their respective zones. I thought that Anglican was pretty good, and was surprised by their loss to Manjusri(again). Manjusri aren't that good you know. Even after watching both teams play, I still pick Anglican as the better team. So now, we face Unity and Jurong faces Assumption English in the all-West Zone semifinals. Wish us luck!

The parents of the Sec Ones are really longwinded and naggy. When we asked if they had any queries, most parents would ask sensible stuff. Ie. Would their daughter be able to cope/ What about schoolwork etc. Instead, they worried about stuff like: If their daughters have to eat as a team during recess, would they be ostracized by their classmates? They wouldn't be satisfied by just one answer, no matter how well-answered it was. They kept on going round and round the same point for over half and hour. Gosh. I got out early though. (Dental appointment) I think that my team was stuck in there for at least an hour after I'd left. Poor things. There was one dude, who to me at least, seemed to be talking down to us. I think that though our coach left the room and left us to answer questions, he still viewed us as mere children. It was his tone. And he kept on questioning us. It was like the Spanish Inquisition. Urgh. With parents like that, it's easy to see how their kids turn out irritating, soft, whiny, bratty and pesky. What's with the kids nowadays anyway? (Oh the irony!)

I went for the first part of the root canal surgery today. They drilled a hole in my teeth and dug out the nerve. I'll be heading back next week for the second part of the procedure. I'm kinda annoyed 'cause the dentist said that anesthesia lasts for about an hour for most people, but it lasts about 4 to five hours for me! Urgh.
